Sapele comes from tropical Africa. It can be used as a substitute for mahogany. It is a deep red-brown cappuccino colour. Sapele has an interlocked grain and a natural wavy luster when finished.

What are the dimensions of this blank?

Each blank measures approximately 2" square × 6" long. The wood is skip planed, meaning only the high points have been lightly planed, leaving a natural, textured surface that’s ideal for turning. The photo shown is a typical example—your blanks will be chosen at random and may differ slightly in color and grain pattern.
